Chemist having problems getting hold of Tostran

Hi,

Two weeks ago, I put in my prescription for Tostran as normal (3 tubes) and yesterday they managed to give me 1 tube; saying that all their stockists have no supply. A quick search of the web based suppliers show that most of them are out of stock.

I cannot find any official statement on why there is a shortage; does anyone know what is going on?

Maybe getting your local MP involved in finding an answer might be useful but where ever i look Manufacturers say there is no shortage (there definitely is )

Besins claimed in February that it has “sufficient stocks” of its HRT range and has “not experienced any shortages”.

Interesting, my chemist says that none of their suppliers can get any and will not have any before 20-Sep-2020; perhaps we have different definitions of non-in-stock

As It is, I will get my supply just after 20-Sep, and I am happy.

Yesterday my pharmacy told me that they were still not in a position to supply last months Tostran, as there was still none in stock and the manufacture had given no date when new stock will be available.

As they gave me 1 tube, I can not have my prescription back, to try other pharmacies, although if Lloyds cannot get any, I suspect no one else can either.

I have been advised to ask my doctor another prescription, then I can call all the local pharmacies to see if they have any in stock; which sounds like a soul destroying task for monday.

Is anyone else having this problem?
