NEBIDO

NEBIDO

Postby member_38020 » Wed Jan 07, 2015 8:29 am

I've been on Testogel for some time now, but recently switched to testosterone undecanoate, Nebido. I've had two injections, six weeks apart, as a loading dose and will have future injections 10-12 weeks apart. What are the experiences of other members who've made the switch from the gel to Nebido?

Hi Dan, I've not long made the switch myself (Hypopituitarism myself, due to having a Pituitary tumour removed).

I used the gel for around a year, and although it worked fine for me, I found it dried my skin badly and I did get fed up in the end having to keep putting it on. I had my first Nebido injection back in early November and I am due to go soon for a blood test to see how my Testosterone levels are doing and then another injection in a couple of weeks. The doctor had suggested I leave it 12 weeks between injections to start with, and if my levels seem low, they will go for a lesser time period between the next injection.

In terms of how I feel on the injection versus the gel, I can't say I've noticed a lot of difference. If I were to hazard a guess I think I am probably a bit on the low side now. During the year on the gel I grew a load of body hair back that had disappeared over the years, and that along with the 'other' beneficial effects of having Testosterone have continued.

So overall, probably a bit early to tell, but my feeling is that an injection once every 10-12 weeks, rather than daily gel-ing is going to be preferable.
Cheers, Carl

Just to update on this post. I've just had my 2nd Nebido injection today. I had a blood test at the end of the 12 week period to test my levels of Testosterone and apparently they are 'normal'. Certainly I've felt fine during the last 12 weeks and I think I will continue with the injection rather than the gel....it is a bit tender for a couple of days around the injection site and it made my leg a bit tingly at times for a couple of days, but no bit deal at all.

So all in all, I think I'm a Nebido convert :)

Dan

good to hear that the injections are going well, I would recommend that you have your haematocrit, sometimes it can increase with frequent injections.
