sleep apnoea

Postby plum » Tue Oct 11, 2011 3:58 pm

does anyone have any tips on how to deal with sleep apnoea and what is the treatment like?
last week the endocrinologist said that he would refer me to the respiratory department for a sleep study and he mentioned that the treatment involves sleeping with some sort of face mask. doesn't sound very comfortable.
also, does it clear up eventually as IGF-1 levels come down?
thanks

Hi,
I have had sleep studies done, sounds like you will be connected to a cpap machine as I was. It's a bit strange at first and can feel slightly warm, it's also a bit noisy. They found out I was border line, I found by losing a bit of weight helped a lot not always that easy I know also I used vapour rub above my top lip. I am being referred back to sleep studies once again as they think that is what is making me tired,my wife has said I do not snore like I use too, ah well another day at the office.
