Couple of things

Postby member_6464 » Sat Feb 01, 2014 3:32 pm

Just wondering if hearing loss is common among craniopharyngioma patients?

Also wondering as to what role a craniopharyngioma might have in back problems?
Recently I've started to develop a hunch on my back, my wife maintains I've lost several inches in height.
Last year I had a lot of trouble with lower back pain.

Hi John

I had a craniopharyngioma when I was 3 years old and now 22 years old. I've never had any hearing loss, mine's in fact better than a lot of people. I can hear just the faintest of things lol. And with your back problems - yes I do also suffer with back pain. I found out in my teens that I had osteoporosis (brittle bones) and fractures in my spine which was causing me a lot of pain. I now see a bone specialist every so often and sometimes have medication to strengthen my bones. I hope this has helped you

Thank you

Hi member_37049,

Sorry not getting back sooner. Thanks for the tips re back problem.

On the hearing front, saw a specialist today. A nurse done some tests and gave them to be specialist.
His answer surprised me as he maintained my hearing was "normal" and there was nothing he could offer to help improve it.
But he also maintained that head trauma can cause internal problems

How wondering what was behind that?
