Desmo melts don’t seem to be working

My dose is one desmomelt 120 per 24hours but recently it’s hardly lasting 12 hours so am constantly peeing/drinking. What dose do others take and has anyone become immune to desmopressin? Thanks folks. Karen

my dose is 60mcg x2 in 24 hrs. I've found that allowing them to dissolve as slow as possible, and undisturbed (no fluids) helps absorption
some patients may start on one dose, but after a time need two?
can you check with endo and have updated sodium bloods too?

Apparently the half-life of desmopressin is about 2 to 3 hours and its effects last from about 6 hours up to about 10 hours. This suggest strongly that you need two, not one, dose a day to have proper cover. It's worth discussing this with the Nurse Helpline as I believe that the use of 2 doses a day also supports the message have a half a day a week where you take no desmopressin on order to minimise the chance of hyponatremis.

Thanks everyone. Things have settled down a bit and when I get early break through I take another 60mcg. Interestingly Pat I’m beginning to think 60mcg x 2 would work better for me. I will chat to my Endo. thanks.
