Finally diagnosed with DI by Prof today!

Postby xCherryx » Thu May 24, 2012 1:00 am

It's been a while since coming here and posting anything, I have been suffering pretty badly and it has taken it's toll, really down and depressed..I waited 8 months for my hospital appointment today and got there and was only diagnosed with DI which I knew I had..ok so it's official now and I will start Desmopressin tomorrow..

I have to have another mri in august and bloods and urine tests...seems my anterior pituitary is working ok..all that side of the tests are normal..so confused cos all the symptoms and how I feel were all pointing to GH...but all came back normal!

I am now just trying to forget it all and not worry..not sure what else I can do.

Hope you're all well as you can be :)

Hi Cherry
Good to hear your DI is diagnosed - good in the respect of this being able to be treated now and relieve your symptoms.
Let us know how you get on with your Desmopressin etc.

Thanks Pat,

Took my first desmotab last night and i was truly and utterly amazed, the first time i have slept through the night in 3 years...i am over the moon.

Still a way to go with mri's etc but least i will be able to get a restful sleep :D

Hi xCherry, I had trouble sleeping after starting my desmotabs as I had no routine. My excellent GP gave me a very mild sleeping tablet and an anti stress CD to listen to, after a week I have a routine, no longer on the sleeping tablets and have moved off the CD to audio books and am sleeping all night, Good luck
