Why is my desmopressin spray not working as good

Why is my desmopressin spray not working as good

Postby member_37049 » Mon Aug 12, 2013 4:42 pm

Hi there

I'm getting a bit worried why my desmopray isn't working as well. For a couple of months it's seemed to have worn off quicker during the day. However I never feel thirsty and don't drink much. Has anyone any ideas as to why this could be happening or experienced this yourself.

Hi member_37049

Would tend to agree with member_37049.

Finding the need to go loo more often and needing to drink more as a result.
If this had happened years ago I would have took an extra puff but my
blood sodium dropped. Now, I try to grin and bear the discomfort.

But I do wonder.

Hi John

Than you for replying to my post. I take an extra puff now and then. Is this normal for it not to work as good. It used to stop working at about 8pm but now it's earlier ranging from 4pm - 6pm.

Hi member_

Sometimes finding having to run to the toilet a lot I the afternoon and evening but not everyday.
Being in fresh air seems to be controlling factor in my case.

Might need to discuss the desmospray situation with your endo in case of some underlying problem. Sincerely hope not,
although any problems should show up in blood tests, has mine did. Hopefully you don't suffer any strange symptoms like
lower leg cramp and other things.

Interesting, recently I have had to revert to 2 puffs having managed with one for quiet some time. I asked my pharmacist and he said sometimes changing brand can affect people and this lot were a different brand. Dont see why this should be but maybe its that although will mention change in useage to my endo. Cheers Kare

There are generic substitutions availbele which might have been prescribed instead of your usual brand (DDAVP)
If your 'different' prescrption to your usual DDAVP product isn't working as well, you can ask your GP to mark on your prescription the brand product
