Cardiac / respiratory problems

Cardiac / respiratory problems

Postby Sandy » Tue Sep 13, 2011 8:27 am

Hi,
Does anyone else have any problems with shortness of breath, palpitations etc?
I've been referred for tests in these areas & would appreciate any other members' GH experiences in this.
Thanks
Sx

Hi,
I had pituitary macroadenoma surgery in August 2011 secreting Growth Hormone and Prolactin. Now on Hydrocortisone Cabergolide Testosterone and Lanroetide autogel. In October stated palpitations and shortness of breath especially at night. Also some slight unconfortable feeling around heart area. Have had blood tests ECG and Heart scan but no problems found so not sure what is cause or remedy. My BP is fine and heart rate low as I keep myself fit and have had no previous medical problems until this tumour. All very worrying hope you get sorted out soon.

I had shortness of breath, resting heartrate of 140 etc, which was due to having a thyroid-stimulating hormone secreting adenoma. Probably pretty unlikely, but if you're taking synthetic thyroid hormone, having a high resting heartrate or palpitations can be a sign that you're taking too much - poppy, if you've been having palpitations specifically since being on levothyroxine then are they sure that they're not being caused by you taking too high a dose of levothyroxine? I guess they would have checked but if your heart is fine then it seems the most likely answer - I had a similar issue in that my heart was fine and it took ages for them to figure out it was a thyroid hormone issue.
