Hi James
There are lots of publications on the Pituitary Foundation website here
http://pituitary.org.uk/information/pub ... lications/There is one on DI and one on 'post surgery' which may be of use. I had a very good Endocrinologist who gave me his email address to get in touch if I had any concerns after the operation....It would be your Endo I would turn to in the first instance if you have any concerns. My GP was very good, but he doesn't deal with these kinds of conditions every day like the Endo does. I had DI after my operation which thankfully went away on its own, but it isn't a condition I would want to manage without some support, so definitely get some advice from your Endo or even the Foundation's own Endocrine helpline on
http://pituitary.org.uk/support-for-you ... -helpline/ Of all the aspects of my tumour before and after the operation, my most hated part was the DI, it really did my head in....so I don't envy you it.
AfterI had my surgery, I had lots of blood tests and field tests done on my eyes to make sure my sight was returning to normal. It took quite a while (6-8 weeks) for my bloods to start returning to normal, then I had a few more tests to see what hormones needed replacing long-term....which in my case was Cortisol and Testosterone.
There are so many different outcomes depending on what kind of tumour you had, it is always best to get a plan for you, and what your needs are.
Hope you get some answers soon.
Cheers, Carl
